Leader Training
A Scout leader is entitled to wear the Trained leader emblem when he or she has completed some basic but important training courses. To be qualified to receive and wear the Trained leader emblem you must participate in the following required training:
- Fast Start Training
- Youth Protection Training
- Basic Leader Training
- Cub Scout Leader Specific training
Fast Start and Youth Protection training may be taken online and must be taken ASAP.
Note: Once the Trained leader emblem has been earned, Cub Scout Leaders are highly encouraged to take part in the following training opportunities:
- Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (B. A. L. O. O.)
- Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders
- Cub Scout Leader Roundtable
- Wood Badge
- Safe Swim Defense/Safety Afloat Training
