About Pack 1020
Pack 1020 has been serving the boys and community of Rowlett since 1977. It was established with the idea to form a pack where fun and family involvement were key ingredients. After all, if the boys aren't having fun, they won't continue to attend! That's not to say that the boys won't learn a lot--they'll learn about everything from camping to community involvement to sporting activities, and much more.
Our community is a diverse one and our pack reflects the makeup of our community and teaches boys to respect each other, regardless of race or ethnicity. Our charter organization is First United Methodist Church of Rowlett; through our relationship with the church our boys have been blessed to have use of various facilities and we have given back in service as well.
Our membership consists primarily of students from Rowlett Elementary, Herfurth Elementary, and Stephens Elementary schools in the Garland ISD.

Our mission is to instill strong character values in our boys, while giving them a chance to have fun and learn about our world. We also emphasize serving the needs of others, through service projects to our community. Annually, we participate in community service projects including "Scouting For Food" – a national food drive to help the less fortunate. Working with Troop 1020, over 7800 cans were collected in our 2010 "Scouting for Food" drive! In 2011, Gray Owl District collected 62,771 cans for Scouting for Food!
Please note: Cub Scouts is not a "drop-off" activity. A parent or guardian should accompany each scout at activities to serve as his teacher and helper (also known as the boy's "Akela"). Scouting is a family affair, and this theme is stressed in our Pack. Parental or guardian participation is crucial. The Pack is what we, the parents and guardians, make it.
Come grow with us and help us make a difference.
